Is this program for boys or girls?

Old Bridge Lacrosse has programs for both girls and boys.

 

Is this program only open to residents of Old Bridge Township?

You do not need to be a resident of Old Bridge, if your town does not offer a rec lacrosse program.  We encourage residents of surrounding towns to participate if they do not have an available rec lacrosse program. If you are unsure or would like further information, please contact us at oldbridgelacrosse@gmail.com.

 

What ages are eligible to participate?

We offer competitive recreation leagues for girls and boys in grades 3rd through 8th. Teams are divided into 3rd and 4th grades division, 5th and 6th grades division, and 7th and 8th grades division. We also offer clinic-style programs focused on skills development for younger players in Kindergarten through 2nd grades.

 

When does the season run?

The spring league season runs March through May. Practices will be held typically 2 weeknights per week. Games are typically on Saturdays, with some games on weeknights. Home games will be played in Old Bridge, and away games will be played in various locations in Central NJ.

In addition to the main spring season, we offer a number of off-season clinics and training sessions in the fall and winter.

Why do I need to sign my child up for USA Lacrosse in order to play?

Membership in USA Lacrosse provides our program with several benefits. The biggest benefit is providing insurance coverage for the league, which allows us to operate in a safe manner.

 

What equipment do I need to supply?

Clinic programs for Kindergarten through 2nd grade are designed to develop basic game skills. As such, players in the clinic programs only need to supply a stick.

Girls players in the recreation league programs (3rd grade through 8th grade) need to supply a stick, eye/faceguard mask, and mouthpiece.

Boys players in the recreation league programs (3rd grade through 8th grade) need to supply a stick, NOCSAE approved helmet, NOCSAE approved shoulder pads with heartguard, arm pads, gloves, and mouthpiece.

 

Is there a workbond required for parents?

No, we do not require any workbond for parents.

 

Are coaches certified or undergo a background check?

All our coaches are members of USA Lacrosse and must complete a background check through USA Lacrosse.
